This product has been my favourite to create so far and I've packed it with witchy, arcane vector graphics, Photoshop brushes, seamless patterns and mandala designs. Files come as .ai, .eps and .png with transparent backgrounds, giving you a lot of versatility in your own projects.

How is everyone getting on? 🌟 We have had a slight lift of the lockdown here in the UK, but the rules are confusing for many people and it seems to have caused some kerfuffles. I'm being cautious and carrying on as I have been: mainly staying in, except for a daily dose of sunlight in the garden and the weekly venture to the supermarket. 😊 I will be furloughed from my day job until at least the end of July with little chance of returning to the office until October... it's a long, long time, but I'm glad the company I work for isn't taking any risks! .

One other thing, I am super excited because I have a new product just launched! I will start posting about it here on IG tomorrow. 💃💃💃 .

I don't think I mentioned in my previous posts, but my cousin who caught COVID-19 and who was in hospital in a coma just a few weeks ago is now home with his family. Recovery win! 😊 We are so happy and relieved; it was such a massive worry when the hospital only gave him 50/50 chance of surviving the virus.

In the interest of listening to my own advice, I took a little time off the computer and social media. Everything's fine but I've been working on my business flat out since lock-down and needed a breather. 🥴 In the last week I've found time to Spring clean my life and sort out things to go to the charity shops when charity shops re-open. I also got to watch some TV shows I've not seen before (Final Space and Brooklyn 99, both so fun and entertaining!). 😄

It's back to the drawing board today. This is an icon from my new product, a collection of starry arcane symbols, mandalas and patterns. The serpent represents creative life force, rebirth (skin shedding), transformation and healing. 🐍 These ideas feel so fitting for where I am right now with my creativity; working on my own stuff full-time has been so challenging, interesting and fulfilling.

There are still a lot of things worrying me like friends and family safety, but if I can take anything from lock-down it's that my dream to run my own creative business full-time can be a reality some day.

To my lettering artist friends: I have so much respect for your craft! Anyone who thinks lettering is going to be easy clearly hasn't tried it yet. 😄 I rarely do hand-lettering and when I do it always takes me ages... but I wanted to post this wobbly attempt because I think this is an important message to letter out.

Sharing your feelings publicly online gets a lot of attention on social media, but you are under no obligation to anyone to share publicly if you don't feel up to it or you just plain don't want to. There can be a bit of peer-pressure to be completely open and announce your insecurities and vulnerabilities for all to see, but peer-pressure shouldn't steer your inner judgement. Always trust your very fine gut. 👍
.
Don't get me wrong, talking can be beneficial. But you get to decide who you talk to and whether it's in public or private. Do what feels right for your mental health and for your general well-being. I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure your most excellent followers will not shun you if you'd rather not talk about how crappy you feel right now. 💙

"Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won't come in." - This is a quote by one of my favourite science-fiction writers, Isaac Asimov.

Asimov wrote an incredible award-winning set of books known collectively as The Foundation series. It covered a period of 1000 years, the collapse of a failing galactic empire and laying the foundations (hence the name) for a new, stronger empire. One of the main reasons I love Asimov's writing is he manages to bring a character in for perhaps two pages and yet he drops the most succinct and nuanced details about them that you feel you've just read an entire book about them. I always wanted to write like that. Alas, I wandered away from my fiction writing career a few years ago so maybe not!

Still, this quote is rather lovely, especially right now when we all need to stay a little open-minded and make sure our judgements don't get clouded. We might be self-isolating but we can still let our minds, imaginations and feelings expand.

People keep posting about the importance of taking

People keep posting about the importance of taking breaks and I always encourage healthy behaviour in others, but I think I'm just as guilty of this one. I've been working full-time on my hustle since quarantine started and while things are going great, I'm noticing an increase in tiredness and a few small headaches (and I don't normally get headaches). 🤔

It's easy to mix up "taking a break" with "failing," or worrying that everything will suddenly fall apart. I mean, it's unlikely my entire business will implode if I finish work on the computer to rest my eyes at 5pm rather than 11pm (I need to get better at this). Creativity can be incredibly relaxing and therapeutic, but like any drug you can definitely do too much! 😄

I've started to develop a strategy for organising my day. I'm also hoping it'll stop the urge to work into the night and OD on pixels. 🤪💛 Each day I make a short list of 2-4 tasks. The first on the list is the Big Task, the one I want to achieve that day above anything else. The other 2-3 are Small Tasks. If I get some Small Tasks done it's a couple more goals met on top of the big goal. If I don't get any Small Tasks done at least I've still achieved the big goal that day. Big Task is priority; it gets done first. It can be anything, as simple as "Draw 3 vectors for my next product," or "Write a new email for subscribers." The bigger goals tend to push my business forward. Smaller tasks are usually things like "Create a Pinterest pin," or "Post to IG," and honestly they can wait another day or two if I don't get around to them.

So far it's working pretty well, I just need to fix the start / stop time and rest properly at the end of the day. 😊
